Andrew Wood
Software Engineer
Andrew Wood is a Software Engineer at the University of Edinburgh, working with Professor Sotirios Tsaftaris as part of the digital infrastructure strand of PhenomUK. This aims to provide shared access to information, data and computational services for the plant phenotypoing community across the UK.
He holds a PhD in informatics from the University of Edinburgh, where he explored using large-scale GPS and geospatial data analysis in order to provide improved predictions of speeds when hiking or hillwalking. Prior to this he received a Master’s degree in informatics from the University of Edinburgh, and an undergraduate degree in mathematics from the University of St. Andrews.
